Good morning, good morning...
After typing that subject line, I am now wishing I had the Singin' in the Rain soundtrack. Wait, why DON'T I have that? Anyway! A guy I work with just held a door for me (the door-holding situation in this office should be a whole separate post, actually) and I said "Thanks," and then:
Me: Good morning!
P: Huh? Sorry, it's early.
Me: I said "good morning."
P: Oh! Thanks.
Me: Sorry. I'll wait for such complicated statements until after you've had some coffee.
P: Yeah, I clearly can't handle anything so complex this early.
So. Friday. You're going to be like that
, are you?

See, I read the title of this post and thought of that Beatles song off Sgt. Pepper.
One day one of my roommates and I both had to be up early - neither of us is a morning person - and ran into each other in our kitchen. We both had the same reaction: "Oh! Another person! A person I'd like to talk to! WHAT DO I SAY TO THIS PERSON??", that manifested itself mainly by each of us staring at the other for a while before we could start mumbling things.
