September 06, 2007Signs of AutumnI love lists!(Yes, I know the season hasn't technically started, but in my brain, seasons all start on the first of the month. September 1, December 1, March 1, June 1. And yes, I know it's going to be 90 this weekend. I'm in denial.) 1. It was cold enough to wear flannel to bed the past two nights. Flannel. I cannot express the joy this brings me.Posted by Kat at September 6, 2007 09:01 AM Comments
My kitties get cuddlier as the temps drop, but it hasn't happened here yet. Maryse posted about the leaves yesterday - she heard a spot on NPR about it. The leaves are changing earlier because of how dry it's been this year - it's a sign of tree stress. Posted by: Chris at September 6, 2007 10:47 AMWhat's wrong with just reading and drinking tea and baking? We had pleasant temps in the mid-80s last weekend, but it's been back in the 90s during the week. Sorry those temps are heading northward! Posted by: sprite at September 6, 2007 10:55 AM:D The pumpkin lattes are how Chris heralds in Autumn. He was thrilled last night when we got to the coffee shop for knitting. I'm waiting for the maples to turn, I need them to make my wedding boquet. They've got about two weeks before I start driving north ;) Posted by: ErickaJo at September 6, 2007 10:59 AMI had my first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the year yesterday, and it was gooooooooooood. Posted by: Ruth at September 6, 2007 02:11 PMNo where near that here - it's 100 degrees today. I long for the days of Egg Nog lattes myself. Posted by: Carrie K at September 6, 2007 04:08 PMKillian is a cuddler anyway - but in the fall and winter he even cuddles in the recliner with me...not just in bed at night. The baking gene appears at the beginning of September, didn't you know that!!! I know I keep seeing these wonderful recipes for baked goods... And I can hardly wait to put my flannel sheets on the bed... Posted by: Sara at September 6, 2007 04:33 PMPost a comment
