A-ha! You were the one who recommended Meg Cabot to me! I just finished reading Size 12 Is Not Fat and quite enjoyed it. I was pleased that she didn't lose weight to get the guy (as happens in all too many novels of this genre) and also appreciated Ms Cabot's commentary in the afterword.
I really liked Elizabeth George but haven't read another one after Barbara Haver's star turn.
I want to like Elizabeth George, but they always seem to disappoint me.
The Roommate and I are currently watching the PBS Mystery (or more like re-packaged BBC) versions of Inspector Lynley and we're really enjoying them. I know she was planning to pick up the books at some point, too.
Of course, if it's British and it's a crime series, we're going to like it. Odd that neither of us can stand American cop shows...
I LOVE Elizabeth George! Have read all the Lynley mysteries, except... erm... the last two. Still waiting for them to get to Audible unabridged. Sigh...
