I remember my mom volunteering in my school library when i was little - even before i started at school. it was a trailer, and we would go in on cold days & she would boil water on the hot plate and i would have spice tea (a conglomeration of iced tea mix, tang, and spices. sugary, but tasty) and the classes would come in and use the library. those are probably my first (of many) library memories.
funny - my dad teaching me to use microfiche while i was researching a report on otters. i was at the most 11 years old at the time. i think i was more like 9. he taught me to use the reader's guide to periodical literature and everything.
My dad introduced me to reading. And my first library memories are of my primary school library!
I love libraries and have some great memories from when I was little.
The library was always there for me, too. My mother took my sisters and I every week, and we did lots of library activities and reading. Our house was always occupied by books!
